The destination
And the path,
The purpose
And the plan…
All answered in one word:
Love.

The force
And the form it acts on,
The law
And the reality it governs…
All expressions of this divine substance.

Why the tree breathes
The flower blooms
The rain falls
And the star shines,
All needed for our existence
And offered unconditionally…

What makes the innocent believe
And the jaded become innocent?
What causes the wounded to forgive
And the wise to remain unwounded?
What knowing makes the heart yearn
And what experience fulfills its yearning?

What unseen power
Inexorable and without err,
Binds the earth to the sun
The electron to the nucleus
And me to you?

Investigate these questions to their ends
And when the failure of all reasonable answers
Has burned the dross from the gold
Unmasking the ultimate reality,
What remains?
Only Love.

Of this was all created,
By this is all sustained,
Towards this does all evolve…
And to this…most beautiful mystery,
Do I eternally offer all that I am.
